Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE) is seeking a part-time development manager to lead fundraising and

grant identification and application efforts for a growing Haitian dance and cultural organization. JAE is a

contemporary dance company deeply rooted in Haitian-folkloric culture that nurtures a global

community through professional performances, educational opportunities, dance training, and the joy of

movement for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Our ideal candidate is able to work

efficiently and independently as part of a growing team.

Anticipated responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research into foundations, corporate sponsorships, and individual donors
• Lead grant and proposal writing and submission process
• Identify new opportunities for funding based on organizational priorities
• Work closely with directors to create and implement strategic fundraising plans
• Track donations and funders, including running reports and synthesizing information across

various online platforms

• Support fundraising events

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong writing skills
• Experience in nonprofit development
• Knowledge of the dance field
• Experience with or knowledge about Boston’s Haitian community
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and racial justice
• Experience with EveryAction and Google Drive platforms

Pay range:

$20,000 - $23,000 for part-time (20 hours/week) position
